The heat is not of this world.
It began quietly: a man on paternity leave, two kids under two, a backyard, and an inexplicable compulsion to grow peppers. Brad had been drawn to the soil since age 13, when he first pushed a lawn mower through a neighbor's yard and felt something ancient stir beneath the earth. Years later, that same force whispered to him through sleepless nights and dirty diapers. He planted. He harvested. He bottled a hundred bottles of hot sauce in his kitchen at 2am with his sleeping babes mere feet away. The bottles were beamed straight to the Houston Hops and Hot Sauce Festival, and every last one sold before sunset. The signal had been received.
Determined to make hot sauce domination his life's purpose, Brad set about scaling the backyard garden. But, the operation hit a wall. The newly constructed raised beds engineered in secret, deep in the garage, produced nothing but suffering. Stunted seedlings. Deformed fruit. A plague of pests. Was this a costly mistake? Instead of throwing in the towel Brad razed the crop, and went straight to YouTube University for a Master's Degree in organic gardening. Crab shells, dried seaweed, and microbial amendments were carved into the earth by flashlight.
By 2024, the experiment had achieved something that defied all earthly explanations. Pepper plants that stretched 14 feet toward the sky from a lowly 100-square-foot plot in the middle of Houston's Energy Corridor, pumping out hundreds of pounds of superhot peppers in a single season. Twenty million social media views followed. Whatever had been awakened in that backyard, the world felt it too. And Spicy Dadda was determined to make them taste it.
Today, Spicy Dadda Hot Sauce has become a known entity at every major Texas hot sauce festival, sweeping the local Houston 2026 audience choice awards and leaving a trail of scorched taste buds across the state. Every pepper in every bottle is still grown on-site completely organically, picked and processed by hand and fermented in glass mason jars the same method passed down from Brad's grandfather. The recipes are simple. The ingredients are the finest on Earth. The heat is not of this world.
None of this would exist without Brad's wife, the creative genius behind every label, every display, and the brand identity that somehow makes "dangerously hot fermented pepper sauce" feel fun, approachable, and family friendly. You see Denise is the free-est of free spirits, and refused to be confined by the standard skulls, crossbones, and standard tropes of the hot sauce industry. She has tasted the failures, survived the fumes, and only once or twice suggested they stop. Whether she arrived here by conventional means, or was abducted from another galaxy, remains unconfirmed.
Thank you for an amazing five years, and here's to all the future Spicy Dadda adventures.
All our love, Brad and Denise / Co-Founders and Partners
